Can I mulch my veggie garden with hay?
We planted grass seed and covered it with hay to protect it. Today we raked back the hay from the beautiful growing grass. I decided that the hay could make a good mulch for my veggie garden and help with weed control and moisture retention.
Is the hay a safe mulching material?
I think you probably have straw not hay and straw is good in the garden. Hay is for feeding and straw is for covering grass seed and animal bedding material.
